Allowance and General Policy

Carry-On

Up to 2 bags with a combined maximum weight of 7kg, free of charge

All passengers, regardless of fare category, will be limited to two (2) pieces of carry-on baggage. Carry-on baggage must not exceed a combined weight of 7kg.

  • Carry-on baggage will be weighed, measured, and charged (if necessary) in accordance with valid tariffs.

  • For the safety of passengers and crew onboard, Sunlight Air reserves the right to determine whether any baggage will be permitted inside the cabin, should be moved as checked baggage, or should not at all be carried inside the aircraft.

  • Restrictions on dangerous items are not allowed as checked-in or carry-on baggage. 

Baggage and other services offered by Sunlight Air are subject to provisions indicated in the booking.

  • As indicated in our guidelines, dangerous items or goods are prohibited on board regardless if they are part of carry-on or checked-in baggage

  • Sunlight Air’s agents, employees, and representatives are authorized to alter, modify, or waive any provisions indicated in the ticket and our Conditions of Carriage.

  • Management reserves the right to refuse boarding and carriage to passengers who violate any item in the Conditions of Carriage.

  • For safety reasons, certain flights have weight and balance restrictions. Therefore, passengers are not allowed to exceed their initial checked baggage allowance of 10kg for Value tickets and 20kg for Plus tickets. This applies to the following routes: Clark-Coron, Coron-Cebu, Clark-Siargao, Siargao-Clark, Cebu-Siargao, Siargao-Cebu, and Clark-Boracay.

    Requests for additional checked baggage can only be made at the airport check-in counter on the day of your flight. Whether we can accommodate extra baggage will depend on the available space on the aircraft. Sunlight Air reserves the right to deny additional or overweight baggage if the aircraft's weight capacity is reached.

Excess Baggage Fees

Each piece of baggage must not exceed 50kg regardless of the fare category booked.

  • Additional baggage allowance can be availed prior to the date of departure by calling or emailing the Sunlight Air Reservations Team at customercare@sunlightair.ph. Appropriate fees will apply.

  • Baggage not included or exceeding the allowance indicated in a passenger’s flight ticket will be charged PhP 336.00 per kg at check-in counters.

General Baggage Restrictions

Sunlight Air takes the safety of its passengers very seriously. As such, we prohibit certain items from being on Sunlight Air flights in compliance with the law and safety regulations. Here, you can explore which items you can and cannot bring on your flights. 

PROHIBITED ITEMS (CHECKED AND CARRY-ON)

To ensure the safety of passengers and crew, the following items are prohibited on flights, regardless of whether they are in checked or carry-on baggage.

  • Fireworks, firecrackers, gunpowder, ammunition, firearms

  • Gasoline, kerosene, paints, alcohols, matches, sulfur, silicon powder, butane gas cans

  • Uranium, radiological or nuclear substances, plutonium

  • Dishwashing liquid, detergents, battery fluids, sulfuric acid, mercury

  • Dry ice, Lithium batteries more than 160 Wh, chemical kits, magnetrons and other magnetic devices

  • Insecticides, pesticides, medical samples/specimens/waste

  • Propane, LPG, butane, nitrogen, lighters, aerosis, and ammonia

RESTRICTED ITEMS (CHECKED)

The following items are prohibited from being brought into passenger flights as checked baggage. Instead, we advise that the following items be brought in as carry-on items to prevent loss or damage.  

  • Lithium ion batteries that exceed 160 Wh and has more than 8g in lithium metal content

  • Plates, glassware, ceramics, frames, etc.

  • Laptops, cameras, mobile phones, e-cigarettes

  • Currency, jewelry, case, documents, securities, etc.

RESTRICTED ITEMS (CARRY-ON)

To ensure passenger safety during their flights, passengers may not bring the following items in their carry-on baggage. Instead, they are advised to have the following items as checked baggage.  

  • Liquids, aerosols, and gels, such as cosmetic sprays, creams, food, etc. exceeding 100 ml

  • Baseball bats or other objects capable of being used to inflict serious injury.

  • Tasers or other devices capable of stunning and immobilizing

  • Knives or other sharp implements capable causing serious injury

  • Hammers, screwdrivers, or other tools that can inflict serious injury or threaten aircraft safety

Special Items

Sports Equipment

Sports equipment such as golf clubs, surfboards, or scuba tanks should be part of your checked baggage. Additional baggage allowance can be purchased for these items. Kindly inform us of the dimensions and quantity of sports equipment before your flight. For surfboards, a maximum length of 6ft, including the case, is allowed, with a limit of two (2) pieces per flight.  

Medication

Prior to your flight, please inform us of any medication or medical equipment you plan to bring on board. This ensures that we can provide detailed guidelines for a smooth journey.

Perishable Items

Transporting perishable items is permissible, given that the receiving station does not impose restrictions, particularly on items like meat products. Please ensure that these items are correctly packed and labeled.

Fragile and Valuable Items

Securely pack fragile items and place valuable items in your carry-on baggage. For electronic devices or battery-operated items, remove their batteries and place them in your carry-on.

Liquid Items

Passengers are allowed to carry liquids in containers up to 100ml each, not exceeding 1L in total. Note that airport security enforces this limit based on the container size, not the actual liquid volume. Hence, each passenger is permitted to bring a maximum of ten (10) 100ml containers inside the cabin. Ensure these containers are securely packed and not classified as hazardous materials.  

Delayed, Lost, or Damaged Baggage

We understand that occasional issues such as damage, delays, or losses with baggage can disrupt your travel experience. Rest assured, we are committed to swiftly resolving these matters to ensure your journey remains as stress-free as possible.

Delayed Baggage

Should you face challenges locating your baggage upon arrival, our dedicated agents stand ready to assist you. You will promptly receive a Property Irregularity Report (PIR), and updates on your baggage's status can be requested by emailing airportbaggageunit@sunlightair.ph.

Passengers experiencing delayed baggage are eligible for a First Need Allowance (FNA) of Php 1,000.00 to alleviate immediate inconveniences.

Lost Baggage

In the unfortunate event of lost baggage, you can expect compensation in the form of travel certificates equivalent to a one-way or roundtrip ticket.

Damaged Baggage

In case of damaged baggage, please approach a Sunlight Air agent to complete the Property Irregularity Report upon receipt. For inquiries about the status of your report, you can email airportbaggageunit@sunlightair.ph.
